Overview
Discover the vibrant underwater beauty of Tayrona National Park directly from the surface! Join our daily boat trips departing from Taganga Bay to explore colorful coral gardens, rocky underwater landscapes, and stunning coastal scenery. Floating over shallow reefs, you’ll swim alongside parrotfish, butterflyfish, angelfish, damselfish, starfish, and sea urchins—with occasional sightings of octopus or sea turtles. It’s an easy, unforgettable ocean escape ideal for families, beginners, and non-divers looking to join their diving friends.
Trip Itinerary & Schedule
Start your day early at our beachfront shop with complimentary fresh Colombian coffee, tea, or local fruit juice. Connect with the team and get settled.
Equipment fitting followed by safety and area orientation.
Boat safety briefing and scenic 20–30 minute boat ride along Tayrona’s coastline.
Enjoy 45–60 minutes in the water at two distinct snorkeling sites, with a relaxing break on the boat between stops featuring fresh seasonal fruit and cold water.
Arrive back in Taganga Bay after a 20–30 minute boat cruise. Review your marine sightings using our fish ID books while enjoying fresh seasonal fruits at the dive shop. Hungry after your trip? Ask our team for recommendations—we are surrounded by several great local restaurants right around the dive center!
(Note: Afternoon trips are available on request for limited spots: 1:30 PM Meet Up, 2:00 PM Departure, 5:30 PM Return).
Requirements
Experience Level: Open to anyone who can swim and feels comfortable in the water (no dive certification required).
Age Limits: Children under 12 must be supervised by a parent or guardian. Both divers and non-divers are welcome on board.

Flying After Diving Policy
No Restrictions: Snorkeling does not involve breathing compressed air under pressure. There is no surface interval required before flying after a snorkeling trip!
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Reserve your spot with a small online deposit; pay your balance at check-in.
Free deposit refund for cancellations made at least 48 hours before departure.
Granted if Ocean Lovers cancels due to official port closures or dangerous weather.
Cancellations under 48 hours, late arrivals/no-shows, voluntary stops during a trip, or canceling because a dive takes place outside Tayrona Park (e.g., during #RespiraTayrona closures).
If you feel unwell and cannot join the trip, inform us immediately. While last-minute health cancellations make deposits non-refundable, we will gladly reschedule your dive and apply your paid deposit to another date during your stay whenever possible.
Regular Environmental Park Closures (“Respira Tayrona”)
Three times a year, Tayrona National Park temporarily closes to tourism for the #RespiraTayrona conservation initiative. Agreed upon between National Parks authorities and the local indigenous communities of the Sierra Nevada (Arhuaco, Kogui, Wiwa, and Kankuamo), these 15-day pauses give the ecosystem time to rest, regenerate, and allow indigenous spiritual ceremonies to take place:
- February 1 – February 15 (Kugkui Shikasa season)
- June 1 – June 15 (Saka Juso season)
- October 19 – November 2 (Nabbatashi season)

Diving in Taganga never stops! During these dates, our boat trips head to exceptional dive sites located around Taganga Bay, Santa Marta, and the marine borders just outside the park boundaries. These coastal areas share the same contiguous reef system, underwater topography, granite rock structures, and rich marine biodiversity as the park itself; you will enjoy the identical coral gardens, tropical fish, and macro life without missing out on any underwater magic.
