Overview
Become a more aware, capable and confident diver with the PADI Rescue Diver & Emergency First Response Combo in Taganga.
This program combines essential CPR and First Aid training with one of the most challenging and rewarding recreational PADI courses.
Emergency First Response teaches you how to respond to medical emergencies, while Rescue Diver takes your awareness and problem-solving skills into the diving environment. You’ll learn to recognize problems before they become emergencies and respond to tired, panicked, missing or unresponsive divers.
Choose between an intensive 2-day program or a 3-day option with additional confined-water rescue training for more hands-on practice and simulations.
2-day program – Rescue Diver open-water training plus Emergency First Response training.
3-day option – additional confined-water rescue training for more hands-on practice and simulations.
Course Itinerary
Duration: 2 or 3 days – includes 4 open-water training dives over 2 days and approximately half a day of classroom Emergency First Response training. The 3-day option adds confined-water training for additional hands-on rescue practice and simulations.
Before Arrival – Digital Learning
Complete your PADI Rescue Diver and Emergency First Response digital learning before arrival whenever possible.
Emergency First Response Training
Approximately half a day is dedicated to practical Emergency First Response training, including:
- Primary Care – CPR
- Secondary Care – First Aid
- Scene assessment
- Barrier use
- Serious bleeding management
- Shock management
- Spinal injury considerations
- Injury and illness assessment
- Emergency response procedures
Rescue Diver – 4 Open-Water Training Dives
Across two days, develop and practice:
- Recognizing diver stress
- Preventing problems before they escalate
- Assisting tired divers
- Responding to panicked divers
- Missing-diver procedures
- Unresponsive-diver response
- Surfacing an unresponsive diver
- In-water rescue breathing
- Towing and exits
- Emergency management
- Realistic rescue scenarios
Optional 3-Day Program – Additional Confined-Water Training
Choose the 3-day option for additional time to practice rescue techniques in a controlled environment before applying them in open water.
This provides more opportunity for:
- Repeating rescue techniques
- Practicing different scenarios
- Improving towing and positioning
- Tired and panicked-diver practice
- Unresponsive-diver procedures
- Additional individual instructor feedback
It’s especially valuable for divers who prefer more hands-on practice or are considering future professional training.
